WE ARE VPW

About Us

Mission Statement: “The mission of Vista Pop Warner is to provide a FUN environment for our participants that fosters excellence in academics, while teaching the value of hard work in a team environment.  With Football and Cheer as the tools, our participants become better young men and women, our parents have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and our staff accepts the challenge to improve the league each year.”

Vision Statement: “Our vision is to be champions in life using the value system earned as a scholar athlete as the vehicle for success in any endeavor.”

Concussion Statement: Vista Pop Warner is committed to player safety.  We are a Tackling League that employs the USA Heads Up Tackling methods learned through USA Football Tackle Coaches Certification, as well as implements the Seattle Seahawks Tackling Instructional Video by Head Coach Pete Carroll. This video was sent 14,000 high school football programs and 8,000 youth football programs across the country. Once you watch this video you will see why we adopted this style of tackling here at VPW.  While concussions will never be eliminated in any sport we are dedicated to making the game as safe as possible while maintaining the game’s toughness.”

Vista Pop Warner Little Scholars Football & Cheer has served the Vista Community for 3 decades as it’s youth Football and Cheer organization. Many of the long standing members of or community have played football or cheered for VPW right here at Vista Magnet Middle School.  As a cornerstone of the community we have come to symbolize the strength and resilience of the people of Vista.

It’s hard to go anywhere wearing VPW gear without hearing a story from a community member revolving around their own time at VPW.  It isn’t hard to see the profound effect that this program has had on their current success when they can recall the memories of their experiences in this program.  Experiences of the up and downs, bumps and bruises, victories and defeats which prepared them for stepping out into the real world later in life.

Ages 5-15 are developmentally a very important time in a child’s life.  During this time a child who develops self-confidence, self-discipline, team work, the ability to overcome obstacles, and develops a work ethic through challenging physical fitness has a solid foundation for future success.  Our program accomplishes all of this by instilling in them the proud Legacy of success associated with the Citizens of Vista Football and Cheer Programs like:

The many Championships this City has won started right here at VPW.  We prepare our Student Athletes academically, physically, emotionally, and mentally to move onto higher levels of academic achievement when they leave us.  Many of our student athletes have gone on to receive academic and athletic scholarships to Universities they would not be able to afford otherwise.  As our Great City continues to grow so do the needs of our program.

The VPW way supports:

  • Youth academic achievement (strict academic guidelines for participants)
  • Self Discipline
  • Teamwork
  • A strong sense of attachment to the community
  • Safety Equipment
  • Coaches Safety Education
  • Fees associated with football events
  • Field operations

Be a part or the proud tradition of Vista Pop Warner Football. We look forward to seeing your child in the Black, red and Silver!
